Wolf Branch Sink

One of Lake Countys most sensitive hydrological areas, this large sinkhole collects stormwater runoff from a five-square-mile drainage basin and provides direct recharge to the underground aquifer. Through acquisition of 154 acres immediately surrounding the sinkhole, the Water Authority now provides a protective buffer around this unique geological feature, and reduces the chance of pollutants reaching an important underground source of public drinking water.
